This is a not-for-profit fan site. Generating no revenue, it is a project built and maintained with love and respect for Big Star music. We do not receive commissions from the online stores we link to, yet we surely encourage you to buy and enjoy Big Star related material (Alex Chilton, Box Tops et al.) and pass your love for it to those less fortunate to have never heard them.

Links:
It's what we do best! Over 130 Big Star related links and always growing. New links have a (*) before the link name, indicating they are less than a month old on our site. 

Broken Links:
The last thing anyone wants to see on a web site is a broken link. With your help, we can make sure this rarely happens. Broken links can be easily reported (no forms to fill out) by clicking on the [x] symbol next to each respective link. A report will be sent to the Webmaster informing him to check it out.

Cached Pages:
Many of the pages that we link to have been cached on our server. If for some reason a site decides to remove their material, or goes offline altogether, odds are we have a back up of the page to replace it with. If we do replace a page with our cached version, a notice concerning this will be prominently displayed on the top of each respective page.

Search Engine:
We have implemented the first and only Big Star search engine. Every page we link to is included in our database. Only Big Star related hits. Is there really any other worthwhile content on the net?

Customization:
Use the "My Big Star Page" option to add your own personal favorite links on the Big Star Reference main page. You might want a link to Yahoo.com, or some other band site. Wherever, it's up to you. Click on the "My Big Star" circle located in the top right of the main page and get customizing. Note: All  links you create are saved as cookies on your machine. They are accessible only by the particular browser and machine that you created them on. Neither Big Star Reference nor any of it's visitors can see or access these links.

Discussion Boards
Join the Big Star Reference community. Discuss all thing Big Star on our moderated boards. You won't find spam or advertisements here! Become a member with a profile (you can still post without registering). Send private messages to other members. Post your picture. Get notified by email of responses to your posts. Search the message archive. Heck, there are too many features to list here, so check it out.

Multimedia
The highest quality Big Star, Chilton & Bell pictures we could find have been posted in the Discussion Boards. However, you must become a member to view them. New multimedia files will be added from time to time.

Become a BSR Discussion Board Moderator
If after reading the "Help" section of the Discussion Boards regarding Moderators, you feel you have the ability to keep the conversations alive and:
1. you are a frequent poster, OR
2. you've had a successful experience moderating a similar discussion board,
email the Webmaster for consideration.

Chat Room
A "real time" chat room. Just choose a name and start talking. You may have to wait a while at first for someone to happen by.

Album Rate & Review
Rate, on a scale of 1-10, a wide variety of Big Star related albums or write a full review yourself. Why shouldn't your opinion be heard for others to reference?

Lyrics:
The lyrics we keep were compiled and edited through many painstaking hours of listening and through recommendations from people like you. There is a discussion board available to dispute the lyrics, letting everyone's ears be the judge of what is being sung.

Tour Dates & Events:
We are trying our hardest to find where and when a Big Star related act or event is happening. If you know of an upcoming events, let us know. Send the relevent information using the 'Submit an Event' form. 

Games:
Big Star games? Why not? For the kids and the kids in us.
